Welcome to the
Thames Valley Family Lawyers' Society
Providing a one-stop shop for all your Family Legal needs.
The Thames Valley Family Lawyers’ Society was formed in 1991 as a result of an initiative by the designated Family Judge at that time, His Honour Judge Anthony Kenny, and some local family lawyers, including Chris Darbyshire and Susan Henson who both later became District Judges. The aim of the Society was to improve the communication of the family practitioners in the catchment area of Reading County Court (now the Family Court at Reading) both between themselves and with the Judiciary and other local organisations.
Today, the Society has grown in strength and numbers and is now a key source of information for local practitioners as well as a primary focus for practice issues and regular training seminars. The Society holds frequent social events including an annual dinner. Members of the Society take a particular interest in enhancing and developing their practice by attending the Society’s various events and sharing their knowledge.
Since the Society was formed, the designated Family Judge for the Thames Valley has been appointed as our Honorary President. The current Honorary President is His Honour Judge Moradifar.
